The Department of Commmunity Development is divided into four Divisions. The overall Purpose is to approve, inspect and enforce building regulations in the Township of North Brunswick.

Permit applications for building, electrical, fire and plumbing construction must be submitted to the Division of Building Regulations to ensure they meet State and local building codes.

The Division of Code Enforcement is responsible for ensuring compliance with local and State building codes. The Division is also responsible for inspecting rental units prior to their rental.
