In Our Voices
Program Overview:
In July 2002, DPRCS received a grant from the Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission to implement a program in which North Brunswick High School students would be interviewing and recording the recollections and stories of North Brunswick residents who had lived in town for longer than 40 years. This program enabled the department to build bridges between seemingly unrelated members of the community, while documenting the township's history through the eyes, memories, and words of long-time residents. The interviews were then transcribed and have been bound into books for all township residents to enjoy. The project was originally on exhibit at the North Brunswick Government and Community Complex and will be available to "travel" to other North Brunswick establishments, including the NB Senior Center, the NB Public Library, township schools and other locations upon special request.
