House Numbers

Recently members of our Township volunteer Fire Departments along with members of our volunteer First Aid & Rescue Squad have brought an important issue to my attention.  House numbers.  When emergency service personnel respond to calls it is becoming increasingly difficult to locate homes due to the lack of properly displayed house numbers.  Many people these days do not leave on the porch light and do not have numbers displayed on their mailboxes.  

The law requires that every home have clearly identifiable numbers.  I urge everyone to do a simple home inspection to see that house numbers are properly displayed in front of your home – it could help save your life. 

There are simple solutions for this - reflective stick on numbers can be purchased at local hardware stores and placed on your mailbox or house numbers can be easily stenciled onto the curb with reflective paint by your driveway.
