A division of the Finance Office, the Tax Collector bills and collects all property taxes. The Tax Collector is responsible for the enforcement procedures for unpaid municipal charges which includes holding an annual tax sale for unpaid municipal charges. All unpaid municipal charges are subject to Tax Sale on May 11th. Other responsibilities of the Tax Collector’s office include maintaining records for municipal and third party liens, tax sale records, ledger for assessment of local improvements and reconciliation of all receipts. The Tax Collector reports all cash and non-cash transactions on a regular basis to the Finance Officer, Township Administrator and Governing Body.
Tax searches are completed by the Tax Search Officer. Upon examination of the tax records, she certifies all unpaid municipal charges.
Taxes are due February 1st, May 1st, August 1st and November 1st. Payments received after the 10 day grace period will be charged interest from the due date
